ACBL Chief Executive Officer Robert Hartman has announced his resignation effective July 31, 2017.
Hartman, who will be moving to Florida to take over the reins of a family business, notified the organization’s Board of Directors yesterday.
The CEO praised headquarters and field staff. “Our organization also has the hardest working volunteers I’ve come across in my career,” he says. “Their passion is infectious, and I will always remember the people I’ve had the privilege of meeting during my five-plus years on the job.”
ACBL President Bob Heller is working with Hartman to execute a smooth transition in management.
“Robert’s contributions to the League have been enormous,” says Heller. “For example, we have made significant strides toward a cleaner game under his leadership. I know that any future endeavor Robert undertakes will be with the same commitment, courage and integrity he has brought to the ACBL. He will be missed.”
Heller will be announcing a search committee composed of five board members and two highly qualified ACBL members from the business world.
