ACBL Board President Bill Cook brought a new opportunity to Junior bridge players when he recently helped start a local youth bridge club in Jackson MS.
Along with Carol Fielder, president of the Jackson Bridge Association, he worked to create a program at Jackson Preparatory School that teaches students how to play bridge.
So far the club is off to a great start with 18 students who have already joined.
Cook and Fielder obtained materials from the ACBL’s Education Department School Bridge Program, which included textbooks, cards that align with lessons, teacher manuals and bridge-themed baseball caps. All items are free when used to teach players age 25 and younger.
