The Russian-Polish squad captained by Andrew Gromov won the Mitchell Open Board-a-Match Teams Monday night, posting a total of 38.04 wins. Gromov was playing with Aleksander Dubinin, both of Moscow, Russia, and Poles Krzysztof Buras, Grzegorz Narkiewicz, Jacek Kalita and Michal Nowosadzki.
In second with 37.02 was Michael Kamil’s team. Kamil of Santa Clara CA played with Stan Tulin of Boca Raton FL, Gary Cohler of Miami FL, Billy Cohen of Sherman Oaks CA, and Israelis Dror Padon and Alon Birman.
Gromov, who had a carryover of 3.04 from the qualifying round, scored 17 wins in the first final session and 18 in the second.
