Congratulations to the three U.S. teams who earned medals at the World Bridge Teams Championships in Chennai, India:

Bermuda Bowl (Open Teams)

With 32 boards left to play in the final of the Bermuda Bowl, Poland leads Sweden 236.5 to 190.

In the playoff for the bronze medal, USA 2 defeated England, 252.3 to 243. USA 2 is Paul Fireman–Gavin Wolpert, Vincent Demuy–John Kranyak, John Hurd–Joel Wooldridge, and Shane Blanchard npc.

Venice Cup (Women’s Teams)

France narrowly defeated USA 2 in the final of the Venice Cup to win the gold medal 179.7 to 171. USA 2 (Juanita Chambers–Joann Glasson, Lynn Deas–Beth Palmer, Janice Seamon-Molson–Tobi Sokolow, npc David Sokolow) takes the silver medal.

England beat the Netherlands for the bronze medal, 165–139.7.

D’Orsi Trophy (Senior Teams)

USA 1 dominated the final of the d’Orsi Trophy against Sweden, winning the gold medal 263–126.3.  USA 1 : Bob Hamman–Mark Lair, Reese Milner–Hemant Lall, Michael Rosenberg–Zia Mahmood, npc Petra Hamman, coach Jacek Pszczola.

In the playoff for the bronze medal, Poland defeated USA 2, 208–147. USA 2: Dennis Clerkin–Jerry Clerkin, Jeff Aker–Doug Simson, Mark Tolliver–Marc  Zwerling, npc Kate Aker, coach Marty Bergen.
